Mumbai: It is said that some memorable movies leave a long-lasting impact on our lives and influences us to a large extent so much so that we often try to replicate the events in real life.
It happened to be the case with a man who was so inspired by the blockbuster South Indian film Pushpa that he tried to emulate a scene from the movie.
The man allegedly tried to smuggle red sandalwood in filmy style. However, his attempt turned out to be a disaster as he was nabbed by the police in Maharashtra.
The accused has been identified as Yaseen Inayatullah and he was a driver by profession. The movie encouraged him so much that he made an attempt to imitate the trick and smuggle red sandalwood into his truck.
As per reports, the attempt was made when he was on his way to Maharashtra from the Karnataka-Andhra border.
He was taken into police custody when he crossed the border and entered the Gandhi Chowk area at Meeraj Nagar in the Sangli district of Maharashtra.
Red sandalwood worth Rs 2.45 crore have been confiscated by the police from the truck of the accused. The accused did not face any obstacle in Andhra Pradesh and easily crossed the Maharashtra border where he was caught by the cops.
He tried to copy the trick which was shown in the superhit movie. He loaded the truck with red sandalwood and placed boxes filled with fruits and vegetables on top of it. The accused also stuck a sticker of COVID essential products on his truck in the hope of sneaking past the cops undetected.
However, his tricks did not work out and instead went in vain. He clearly failed to outsmart the cops.
Pushpa, starring Allu Arjun, has smashed the box office and has got the better of Tanhaji by a huge margin to become the second-highest grosser of Week 7. It has put up a total of 4.41 crores on the board.
The songs and dialogues of Allu Arjun starrer film have become a rage across the nation with people sharing clips and memes related to the film.
